Behold my greatness

And when I behold my greatness,

I falter.

For great is a heavy word.

What if I behold mediocrity?

Yes, that feels right.

For greatness is reserved for heroes,

And I am no hero.

I am simple and flawed,

Trapped within insecurities

I cannot defy.

Trapped within feelings that

Control my thoughts.

What if I could behold my greatness?

I would think less of the world.

For if I am great,

If I am the hero,

Who will rescue me?
